AVIF to JPG
AVIF is a newer image format that some websites now use. Many programs and upload forms do not accept it yet. Turn AVIF pictures into ordinary JPGs here, on your own device.

What is AVIF?
AVIF is an image format based on AV1, a video format developed by a group of technology companies. It can make pictures considerably smaller than JPG at similar quality, which is why websites are starting to adopt it.
Because it is newer, support outside web browsers is patchy. Converting to JPG gives you a file that opens everywhere.
If your file will not open
Reading AVIF depends on your browser. Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari can all read it; an older browser may not. If you see an error, updating your browser is the first thing to try.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The work happens inside your web browser, on your own device. You can check: once this page has loaded, switch off your internet connection and it will still work. The page also tells your browser to refuse to load anything from, or send anything to, any other website, so nothing can be sent elsewhere even by accident.
