Which format should I choose?
JPG for photographs you want to share or send: small files that open everywhere. PNG for screenshots, logos and anything with sharp text or see-through areas. WebP for pictures going on a website, because it is smaller than either.
What can it open?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP open in every current browser. HEIC photos from iPhones open using a converter built into this page. AVIF opens in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Animated GIFs and WebPs convert to a still picture of the first frame.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The work happens inside your web browser, on your own device. You can check: once this page has loaded, switch off your internet connection and it will still work. The page also tells your browser to refuse to load anything from, or send anything to, any other website, so nothing can be sent elsewhere even by accident.
